BOOK REVIEW: Farsighted by Emlyn Chand

Book Description:

Alex Kosmitoras may be blind, but he can still “see” things others can’t. When his unwanted visions of the future begin to suggest that the girl he likes could be in danger, he has no choice but to take on destiny and demand it reconsider.

Get it on Amazon or Barnes & Noble.  (As part of this special promotional extravaganza sponsored by Novel Publicity, the price of Farsighted eBook edition is just 99 cents this week.)

Book Review:
The name of this blog is "Judge Not By The Covers", and this book would be a prime example of  why every person should follow that rule first and foremost when it comes to choosing books to read ( I will touch on this matter again down below). The book description which features Alex, will grab you hook, line and sinker.. I mean come on, who doesn't love a book where there is a guy and a girl involved (romance), some hurdles to overcome (of the paranormal kind), enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat and new destiny's to be made for all characters involved. I MEAN IT MAKES FOR SOME GREAT READING!

I sat down with the book after forcing my kids to play outside (I told them it was because they needed exercise but it was really just because mommy needed some much needed "quiet time".)

Anyways, Right off the bat I was pleasantly surprised by the characters and the authors ability to bring them to life on paper and in my head. Alex is amazing, his parents can be infuriating and loving at the same time, Miss Teak is mysterious, Shapri can be so distant and Simmi is the link that binds them all together.

Without giving to much more away I will say, the book flowed great and I was actually able to read it in one sitting. At this point I am really anxious to read Open Heart (Farsighted: Book 2). You can expect a cover reveal in February 2012 and a book
release in late spring.

O.k..So now to touch on the "Cover Issue" that I had with this book. The issue to me is really simple.. The guy on the cover doesn't do Alex justice at all!! Not saying I can do much better at portraying him but I am darn well gonna try.   :)~  Here are some covers I came up with.

**PLEASE NOTE** NO AUTHORS FEELINGS WERE HURT BY MY DECISION TO PLAY WITH THE COVER OF FARSIGHTED :)~  I MADE SURE IT WAS OK WITH  EMLYN BEFORE DOING SO..

So what do you think?

Very cool, Celina! I'm glad you enjoyed Farsighted and that it gave you some rest from the chillin's. Your cover ideas are very cool. I like the artistry of the first one and the grunginess of the second. The second probably nails Alex best.

Any chance you'd cross-post this review to Amaon and GoodReads for me, pretty pretty please? :-D

Thank you again!
Emlyn

I like the concept of creating new covers, but prefer the one that is actually on the book as of right now with the shattered lens.
I'm also a fellow blogger on this tour! I very much enjoyed reading Farsighted and can't wait for the next book in the series. I have a couple guesses from whose perspective it might be told from but will just have to wait and see!
Wishing you and your family a very Happy and Healthy New Year!
